Judah Ephraim Zechariah

Judah is a bow, Ephraim is arrows, Greece the Target!

Thru the Bible: Zechariah 9&10

Nearly 200 years from the time of this prophecy Greece would run a circuit all around Judah, making war and conquoring but leave Israel untouched. Tyre was to be a major part of that campaign. The last land to be actually conquored would be Persia itself thus bringing the empire’s dominion to an end all under the leadership of Alexandar the Great.

This prophecy is a starting point. It moves on past Alexandar and the Grecean Empire to the time of the Maccabean revolt when Israel would achieve independance from Greece, just before Rome took their place.

All of this was prophecied by Daniel MANY years before Zechariah, but Zechariah’s served both as a witness to these things AND added more details about this time.

In this prophecy greater Israel, meaning the Northern Kingdom is represented in Ephraim and the southern kingdom in Judah.

The Thorny Heart Pt. 2

Parable of the Heart Soils

Thorns represent anxieties, worries, cares, the seduction of wealth and interests in things other than God’s kingdom. All of these choke out and starve the seed of the Kingdom in the human heart so that it bears no fruit unto God.

The thorny heart is also the cowardly heart. It holds on to what it knows, for fear that surrendering control to the Lord will forfeit the good life for a life centered on the mundane.

Parable of the Heart Soils

When it comes to the Thorny Heart, the thorns were already present before the message of the Kingdom was sown there. These represent anxieties, worries, cares, the seduction of wealth and interests in things other than God’s kingdom.

The thorny heart is also the cowardly heart. It holds on to what it knows, for fear that surrendering control to the Lord will forfeit the good life for a life centered on the mundane. The opposite is true of course which is the lie, this heart believes.

We only covered the anxieties, worries and cares of this life in this teaching. We will address the seduction of wealth and the lust of othe things entering in next week.

Parable of the Heart Soils

The Stony Heart is the type of Heart Soil which is unable to receive the seed of the word to any meaningful depth due to the abundance of stones riddled throughout the soil.

• WHAT are these stones?
• What kind of heart is shallow?
• What does the sun represent?

The stones are selfish interests in the BENEFITS of the kingdom without any COMMITMENT to the kingdom.

That in itself defines the heart as “shallow” as it would in any relationship.

At the first sign of opposition, affliction or persecution due to their affiliation with Christ Jesus the Stony Heart will forsake the Gospel Message.

By Request: Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare is anything which challenges the advancement of God’s rule in our HEARTs.

It is only out of ignorance or laziness that we blame all our hindrances on the devil. This is no more than a sidestepping of the real issue. We do not long for and pursue intimacy with our God and THAT is our greatest enemy.

You need to hear this – NOTHING, AND I DO MEAN NOTHING, challenges the advancement of the rule of God in our hearts more than indifference!

This is why our Master made much of love!

In this lesson we cover what the New Testament tells us about satan and demons, demon possession, demonic oppression and what scripture both tells us to do and demonstrates that Jesus and the early church did in response to the devil.

I hope this teaching will serve to destroy lies, refocus attention on what the scriptures actually say and empower lives lived in honor of our Only God and Father to Whom literally belongs ALL POWER and AUTHORITY FOREVER!
