Series: The Power of the Gospel
Message – Raised in Power.mp3
Podcast: Download (Duration: 53:34 — 73.6MB)
Easter Sunday was all about Christ being crucified in weakness and raised in Power and the resulting power of His Kingdom.
We began by reading these two verses
“Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” ~ Rom. 1:1-4
“since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you. For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.” ~ 2Cor. 13:3-4
Other key verses:
- Mark 9:1
- 2 Tim. 3:1-5
- Rom. 1:16,17
- 1 Cor. 1:18-24
- 2 Thess. 1:3-12
- 2 Tim. 1:7,8
- 1 Peter 1:5
The overall point of today’s message was that the Gospel and Kingdom of Jesus Christ is one of Power not weakness.
The word power used in all the verses above is the word Dunamis and means power to do or to accomplish. It is from this word that we get the word Dynamite, though admittedly the means are somewhat different.
The Gospel IS the power of God unto salvation.
Salvation brings you into the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus, which is a kingdom of Power.
One of the things which has made the Gospel of Jesus Christ appear anemic is the lack of trust the average Christian displays in God’s power and the authority extended to us in the kingdom of God.
There is much more to the message, I hope this teaching will challenge you and encourage you to discover the power that is inherent in the Gospel and in the Kingdom of God. It is the Power of our risen Savior.
